Pray for Haiti

with 2 comments

Pray for the people of Haiti. Pray that God will wrap his loving arms around them and bring healing and divine comfort to a People who have been devastated by a tragic disaster. Pray for miracles in the rescue efforts to find and pull survivors from the rubble.

Imagine the conditions when the major population center of a Third World nation with no building codes is hit with a 7 point earthquake. Even if you have not seen any of the images streaming into media coverage, your imagination alone will confirm to your inner self that this is a tremendous tragedy. The human toll will be beyond our comprehension.

In addition to prayer, we must do what we can to send help. Don’t leave it to government to take care of this – we have a human obligation to help as individuals. Here is a list of capable and worthy Non-Governmental Organizations I have personal knowledge of, which already have connections on the ground in Haiti to convert financial donations into aid which will be delivered to the people of Haiti where it is needed so desperately – right NOW. Pick one (or more), or contact another agency you may already be aware of, and send what you can to help. Be a human being, and help your brothers and sisters who are in a desperate situation. Time is of the essence.

  1. I was watching the 20/20 program tonight on the Haiti earthquake. Had to quit watching it…so sad.

    • I totally understand. It’s really difficult to face up to the full brunt of what happens to PEOPLE in this kind of tragedy. And it doesn’t matter really who or where the victims are – just seeing this scale of devastation and knowing inside what this kind of loss means to the people going through it causes an immediate bond between the ‘human’ in me to the ‘human’ in them.
